List of cell phones withdrawn or updated for deception and endangering users
The symbolic number of 40 has been reached! There are now 40 models of cell phones, identified as dangerous for the health of users, which have been either withdrawn from the French market or have seen their Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) being updated by software. The latests: the Xiaomi Poco X3 and the Logicom Le Swipe.
The Xiaomi company pinned for exceeding SAR and sentenced to an administrative fine of 7,500 €
In a press release published on March 1, 2023, the National Frequencies Agency (ANFR) indicates that, during an inspection, trunk SAR measurements were found to be too high on the Xiaomi Poco X3 smartphone.
Time To Invoke the Precautionary Principle for RF, Say Senior Scientists
The precautionary principle should be applied to public exposures to RF radiation. So say four senior academic scientists —including the former director of the U.S. National Toxicology Program (NTP)— in a strongly worded appeal, published today.
Writing in the peer-reviewed journal Environmental Research, Paul Ben Ishai, Linda Birnbaum, Devra Davis and Hugh Taylor point to a “plethora of both experimental and epidemiological evidence establishing a causal relationship between EMF and cancer and other adverse health effects.”
However, they go on, the picture that has emerged in public discourse has been distorted by some “fundamentally flawed, yet widely publicized reports purporting to show no health risk.” They point out that much of this disinformation comes from “industry-affiliated scientists.”
Smartwatches and Wearable Fitness Trackers Could Trigger Heart Attacks in Vulnerable Patients
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Smartwatches and wearable devices like a Fitbit or Apple Watch could trigger a heart attack in vulnerable patients, a new study warns. Scientists with the University of Utah say these wearable gadgets can interfere with medical devices such as pacemakers.
“This study raises a red flag,” says lead author Dr. Benjamin Sanchez Terrones, a computer engineer at the University of Utah, in a media release. “We have done this work in simulations and benchtop testing following Food and Drug Administration accepted guidelines, and these gadgets interfere with the correct functioning of the CIEDs we tested. These results call for future clinical studies evaluating the translation of our findings to patients wearing CIEDs and using these wearable devices.”
Pittsfield cell tower opponents have found an ally in the Massachusetts Association of Health Boards
Residents contesting a Verizon Wireless cell tower have gained a statewide ally: the Massachusetts Association of Health Boards.
The nongovernmental group, which provides legal and technical direction to local boards of health, this week filed an amicus brief in Berkshire Superior Court asserting that the Pittsfield Board of Health was “coerced in an improper manner” into dropping an April 2022 emergency order against the Verizon Wireless, owner of the tower at 877 South St.
The emergency order found that the radio frequency radiation from the cell tower was making residents sick. At least 17 residents have reported suffering from ailments such as headaches, dizziness, nausea, insomnia, skin rashes, palpitations and tinnitus and other problems since the tower started operating in August 2020. The emergency order, issued on April 11, 2022, gave Verizon a week to show cause to the board why it shouldn’t issue a cease-and-desist order, a deadline Verizon missed.
Not Smart Smart Meters
As new legislative sessions commence across U.S. states, elected officials are in the process of proposing and sponsoring bills.
And like clockwork, in some states, informed consumers will continue to attempt to secure the right to opt out of wireless smart utility meters, again.
In other states, the battle has already been waged.
For environmental justice, human rights, and scientific integrity, even when opt outs have been achieved, it has not gone well.
More to the point, issues around the installation of smart meters never should have been reduced to the question of whether or not or how to accommodate those seeking protection from harm but should have been a catalyst for addressing decades-old unfounded assumptions regarding the safety of wireless applications.
Reports From Those on the Ground; UK “Action Against 5G” Hearing
On 6 and 7 February 2023 the Administrative Court heard the judicial review of the Secretary of State’s alleged failure to address the evidence of risks to human health posed by 5G technology.
No5’s Philip Rule acts for the claimants, led by Michael Mansfield KC, and instructed by Lorna Hackett of Hackett & Dabbs LLP. The case is brought by Action Against 5G and with the support of the public through Crowd Justice.
At the hearing the government argued that there is no duty to inform the public of any risks at all, because it essentially denies that there are any risks from the increased exposures or new form of radiation frequency to be used in 5G rollout. This is in keeping with its publications that have sought to reassure the public that there – categorically and conclusively – is no chance of harm arising from exposure to 5G and radio frequency radiation (“RFR”).
The UK 5G Legal Action and the EU – Helping Us Secure a Safer Future
The U.K. Government has failed in its duty to inform the public about the risks of wireless radiation. Monday and Tuesday February 6 and 7, the “Action Against 5G Court Case” took place at the Royal Courts of Justice on Strand, London WC2A 2LL. K, United Kingdom. The UK Court Action Against 5G originally scheduled for Dec. 13 had been graciously postponed by the court until February.
In addition, the Court extended the time allotted for the February hearing from one to one-and-one half days, allowing more time for the case to be presented.

The Assumption of Safety is Being Used to Justify the Rollout of 5G Technologies
The advent of fifth-generation (5G) wireless communication introduces new technology utilizing near-millimeter radiofrequency waves [i.e., with a frequency of 30–300 GHz (mmWaves)]. The long-term effects of these signals on humans and the environment are unknown. Scientific literature reviews investigating biological harm from mmWave usage have concluded … no in-depth conclusions can be drawn… and no confirmed evidence. Unfortunately, these statements of scientific uncertainty have been used by industry and government advisory bodies to reassure the public of the safety of the 5G rollout.
Development of the Microwave Syndrome in Two Men Shortly after Installation of 5G on the Roof above their Office
The 5th generation, 5G, for wireless communication is rolled out without previous studies on potential effects on human health and the environment. In this case study we describe two men, case 1 and case 2, working in three office rooms close to base stations. After the deployment of 5G, both men developed symptoms typical for the microwave syndrome, e.g., headache, tinnitus, dizziness, balance disorder, concentration and attention deficiency, and fatigue.
Radiofrequency Radiation (RFR) after the 5G deployment was measured in the three offices. In office one maximum (peak) RFR during one minute varied from 463 to 1,180,000 µW/m2, in office two from 6,230 to 501,000 and in office three from 13,700 to 613,000 µW/m2. The symptoms disappeared in both men within a couple of weeks (case 1) or immediately (case 2) after leaving the office for other offices with much lower maximum peak RFR emissions, maximum for case 1 =16 and for case 2 =2,920 µW/m2.
The Effects of Radio Frequency Radiation Exposure on Free Radical-Related Cellular Processes (290 studies)
This document contains abstracts for 290 studies published since 1997 that assessed the effects of radiofrequency radiation (RFR) exposure on free radical-related cellular processes. See pages 164-187 for the Table that summarizes key details about each study.
Summary
- Of the 290 studies published since 1997, 263 studies (91%) reported statistically significant effects of radiofrequency radiation on free radical-related cellular processes; only 27 studies (9%) found no significant effects.
- Change in cellular free radical status is a consistent effect of radiofrequency radiation exposure.
- Effects can occur at low specific absorption rates (SAR) or power density of exposure. Seventy studies are marked LI for low intensity (≤ 0.4 W/kg). Of the 70 low intensity exposure studies, 68 studies (91%) reported significant effects on free radical-related cellular processes.
- Effects have been reported at different frequencies, exposure duration, and modulations, and in different biological systems, cell lines, and animal species. These data support the assertion that “Radiofrequency radiation affects cellular free radical processes.”
- Most of the studies are live animal (in vivo) studies with long-term exposure, e.g., daily exposure up to several months.
- Some studies used mobile phones or RFR-emitting devices for exposure (see Table). The SAR and characteristics of RFR in these studies are not well defined. However, these studies should not be overlooked because they represent real-life exposure scenarios. Waveform modulations of RFR during wireless communication usage probably play an important role in biological effects which are not revealed in studies that used a simple form of radiation (e.g., continuous-wave or GSM) and spatially uniform fields. Researchers in bioelectromagnetics should realize that the perfect RFR exposure system simulating real life exposures simply does not exist.
Phonegate USA: Apple sued in Supreme Court
A new step was taken on January 23, 2023 regarding the class action lawsuit filed in the United States against Apple. The plaintiffs, alleging that the brand’s iPhones exceed regulatory Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) limitations in real-world use, filed suit with the Supreme Court, the nation’s highest court.
This new action follows the August 26, 2022 judgement, which we have previously documented, which ruled that federal regulations setting permitted emission levels prevailed over state law. The verdict, which elicited many reactions of indignation, is as follows:
“We hold […] that the FCC’s regulations of the [radiofrequency] radiation of cell phones, promulgated under the 1934 Act, preempt plaintiffs’ state-law claims as they are presented to us on appeal.”
EM Radiation Research Trust – Letter of Complaint Against Smart Meters
For the attention of the Energy Supplier Chief Executive Officer and the UK Ombudsman
The UK EM Radiation Research Trust (RRT) would like to remind energy suppliers and the ombudsman
that a smart meter is not a legal requirement and call upon you to revisit the UK Government’s official advice. Take a look at the Retail Energy Code advice. Here is a link to frequently asked questions.
“Is a smart meter compulsory?
No, the government requires that smart meters are offered by energy suppliers to all small
businesses and homes, but smart meters are not a legal requirement.
Therefore it’s not compulsory to have a smart meter installed, and whether you accept one is
completely up to you.”
Energy suppliers should abide by the Government recommendations allowing customers the right to opt out of accepting a smart meter in favour of an analog meter and without penalty.
Mobile Towers May Sound Death Knell to Goa’s Govt Primary Schools: Ponda locals
PONDA: Anguished by the installation of cell phone towers on government school campuses across the State, and particularly in Ponda, locals warned that it could lead to hundreds of children leaving school, and the eventual closure of the town’s public schools.
A cell tower was recently erected at the government primary school in Bhedshem, Talaulim, despite stiff opposition from parents and locals. The parents of students who go to the GPS have already threatened to remove their children from the school as they fear they would get sick from the radiation from the cell towers.
“The government keeps granting mobile service companies permission to install towers within GPS campuses. We have objected to it so many times, but they keep coming back, often under the cover of darkness or with police protection,” said a parent, whose child studies at a government school.
Installation Of 5G Towers In Wash Heights Paused After Pol Speaks Out
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — The installation of a 32-foot 5G pole in Washington Heights has been paused after residents spoke out about the installation to a local elected official.
Uptown Council Member Carmen De La Rosa reached out to the NYC Office of Technology and Innovation about pausing the installation of one of the internet-bringing towers at 689 Fort Washington Ave., near West 190th Street.
“The holes created by construction will be filled in for the meantime for safety purposes,” De La Rosa wrote. “Thanks to our constituents on Fort Washington for alerting us.
Critique of SCHEER Opinion Report on Health Risks from Radio Frequency Radiation
The EU Commission scientific advisory group, SCHEER, has released a draft opinion report1 on the possible risks from exposure to wireless technology like 5G, 4G, cellphones, Wi-Fi etc. The SCHEER Opinion published in August 2022 advises positively on the adoption of the ICNIRP 2020 limits, in stark contrast to the opinion of the majority of field experts, concluding that ICNIRP limits are far too high, allowing radiation exposures known to cause harmful effects.
As for the previous SCENIHR reports (2007, 2009 and 2015), with the appointed SCHEER advisory group, the European Commission has failed to include representatives from the vast majority of scientific experts, who agree that there is sufficient evidence of health risks well below the EU Commission endorsed ICNIRP exposure guidelines in order to adopt more protective limits.
Queens CB1 Hosts Link5G Meeting, Wireless Radiation Experts Will Also Testify
Queens CB1 — the Community Board representing Astoria, parts of Long Island City, and Woodside — will be hosting a very special meeting on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, 6:30pm EST. The Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) and CityBridge will be presenting on Link5G, the latest wireless infrastructure rollout. Three experts will present the opposing view. There will also be important testimony from a community resident who was injured from wireless infrastructure placed outside of his house.
Manhattan community boards, Borough President Levine call on city to slow 5G rollout
The city’s effort to roll out its new 5G antenna tower program across the five boroughs has generated backlash in Manhattan, where residents have raised wide-ranging concerns against the technological upgrades.
The issue played out Thursday night in Lower Manhattan’s Community Board 2, which voted for a moratorium of new 5G towers in the community district. Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, who appeared at the meeting, said he shared many of the board’s concerns over the towers and wrote a critical letter to the city’s Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) earlier this week.
EMF/RF Free Monthly Educational Webinars, CeCe Doucette: “Wireless Technology Risks and Safer Solutions”
Co-Hosts: New Hampshire For Safe Technology and Cece Doucette, Director Of Massachusetts For Safe Technology & The Non-Profit Wireless Education
NEXT DATE: Tuesday, January 24, 12 Noon ET
Did you know New Hampshire is the first government in the U.S. to conduct a formal investigation of wireless risks and issue a groundbreaking report of harm along with safer ways to use today’s technology?
They discovered thousands of peer-reviewed, published studies that link wireless radiation to our growing rates of insomnia, headaches, fatigue, anxiety, depression and more. In the long-term, the U.S. National Toxicology Program has found cell phone radiation causes cancer and DNA damage. It is also a leading cause of our disappearing pollinators. This invisible radiation is constantly pulsed from all things wireless, unless we learn to use technology safely and responsibly.
Please join us to discuss this timely issue with technology safety educator Cece Doucette.
Cece introduced similar legislation to New Hampshire’s in Massachusetts, and helped her schools become the first in the nation to begin safeguarding students and staff from wireless radiation.
Study: Brain Cancer Is Closely Related to Cell Phone Usage
A study by the School of Medicine of the Chinese University of Hong Kong discovered that the incidence of primary brain cancer was higher in high-income jurisdictions, and was closely related to the per capita gross domestic product (GDP), the human development index (HDI) and the prevalence of traumatic brain injuries, occupational carcinogen exposure and mobile phone use at the country level.
Global incidences of primary brain cancer have been relatively stable over recent years, but an increase was observed in younger males in high-income countries. The research suggests that risk factor control and early cancer detection should be implemented among high-risk populations.
Although primary brain cancer is not common, the survival rate is much lower than any other type of cancer. The medical community still does not understand the primary cause of brain cancer.
According to the data of the Hong Kong Hospital Authority, an average of 240 new cases of primary brain cancer and 115 deaths in Hong Kong were recorded every year between 2011 and 2020.
Case Report: The Microwave Syndrome after Installation of 5G Emphasizes the Need for Protection from Radio Frequency Radiation
In this case, report two previously healthy persons, a man aged 63 years and a woman aged 62 years, developed symptoms of the microwave syndrome after installation of a 5G base station for wireless communication on the roof above their apartment. A base station for previous telecommunication generation technology (3G/4G) was present at the same spot since several years. Very high radiofrequency (RF) radiation with maximum (highest measured peak value) levels of 354 000, 1 690 000, and >2 500 000 µW/m2 were measured at three occasions in the bedroom located only 5 meters below the new 5G base station, compared to maximum (peak) 9 000 µW/m2 prior to the 5G deployment.
The rapidly emerging symptoms after the 5G deployment were typical for the microwave syndrome with e.g., neurological symptoms, tinnitus, fatigue, insomnia, emotional distress, skin disorders, and blood pressure variability.
6G Wireless Technology Could Use Humans as a Power Source, Study Explains
5G wireless technology is just starting to take off worldwide, but a new study is already speculating on the future of 6G! Researchers from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst say, unlike older technology, 6G could end up using people as antennas.
Specifically, 6G telecommunications could possibly take advantage of Visible Light Communication (VLC), which is like a wireless version of fiber optics. Right now, fiber optics use incredibly thin glass or plastic strands to transmit information on flashes of light. These wires are extremely small, but also extremely fragile.
The UMass Amherst team says they have created a low-cost and innovative way of harvesting waste energy from VLC — using the human body as an antenna. Their invention can recycle waste energy to power wearable devices and possibly larger electronics as well.
Cell phones and health: Swiss authorities still absent!
On December 22, 2022, the General Secretariat of the Swiss Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communication (DETEC) answered our last question and after three years of waiting, here is the insane conclusion of its letter:
“After extensive research, the working group found that, as the legislation currently stands, there is no market surveillance authority in Switzerland that is competent for the health aspects of NIR products (e.g. verification of compliance with NIR limit values*).
In 2022, still no official monitoring body responsible for checking the conformity of devices
While our NGO has been contacting the Swiss authorities since 2019, in order to find out who our official contact is, different government departments are skilfully passing the quid. Thus, while mobile phones have been on sale for more than thirty years on Swiss territory, the authorities persist in their failures, despite the alerts raised in 2018 and then in 2019 by several members of Parliament (interpellations 19.3180 and 19.4496) or some press articles evoking the “Phonegate affair”, such as in the newspaper “Beobachter“.

AT&T looking to construct 85 foot cell tower at Hesperia High School
HESPERIA – AT&T is requesting to construct an 85 foot high monopine cell tower at 9898 Maple Avenue, Hesperia High School. The tree-like cell tower will provide a 5G reception signal in that area.
The conditional use permit will be considered at Hesperia’s Development Review Committee on Wednesday, Jan. 11.
In 2022, all mobile service providers shut down their 3G networks to make way for 5G – the fifth generation of mobile communication. The new tech will allow faster data rates with lower latency, or delays, in transmitting data.
Not only does 5G promise faster speeds, but also a more unified system for Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things expansion.
What to Know About Cell Phone Radiation
ProPublica recently examined how the federal government, based on quarter-century-old standards, denies that cellphones pose any risks. This guide answers some of the most common questions people ask about cellphone radiation.
To many people, the notion that cellphones or cell towers might present a health risk long ago receded into a realm somewhere between trivial concern and conspiracy theory. For decades, the wireless industry has dismissed such ideas as fearmongering, and federal regulators have maintained that cellphones pose no danger. But a growing body of scientific research is raising questions, with the stakes heightened by the ongoing deployment of hundreds of thousands of new transmitters in neighborhoods across America.
ProPublica recently examined the issue in detail, finding that the chief government regulator, the Federal Communications Commission, relies on an exposure standard from 1996, when the Motorola StarTAC flip phone was cutting edge, and that the agency brushed aside a lengthy study by a different arm of the federal government that found that cellphone radiation caused rare cancers and DNA damage in lab animals. The newest generation of cellphone technology, known as 5G, remains largely untested.
FCC, Verizon Wireless Settle Probe of NEPA/NHPA Violations
The FCC and Verizon Wireless d/b/a Cellco Partnership settled an investigation of constructed wireless facilities without complying with the Commission’s environmental and historic preservation rules. As part of the settlement, Verizon admits it violated the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) and the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA). The work concerned building and deploying small cell antennas starting in 2020. The carrier will pay a $950,000 civil penalty.
Verizon says it did so by prematurely constructing wireless facilities before completing the required environmental or historical reviews in Arizona, Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. The carrier says it also built wireless facilities without onsite monitoring as requested by the affected tribes.
Another Nightmare Before Christmas: “Smart Meter Catches Fire, Utility Company Denies Homeowners’ Damage Claim”
In case you missed it, ‘smart meters’ were in the news again, in Maine, and Virginia. We now add a Maryland fire and company response (non-response) to the list of customer nightmares caused by the unsafe, insecure, unsustainable, unwise ‘smart’ grid ‘smart’ meters.
Maine: Smart Meters Do Not Improve Storm Response
It’s wintertime, and on December 18, 2022, WABI Channel 5 Central Maine posted the headline: “First major snowstorm of the season leaves thousands without power.” Again.
Safe Tech International reported, “Remember that in 2017, as reported by Maine Public, an “October Windstorm Took Down CMP’s $200 Million Smart Meter Network.”
“When power went out to some half a million Mainers after the October windstorm, another system went down too — Central Maine Power’s $200 million smart-grid communications network that, among other things, was supposed to improve outage communications and storm recovery.”
WHO Names RF Working Group Only Members of the Club Are Invited
The World Health Organization in Geneva is gearing up to update its 30-year-old document on the health effects of RF radiation. It’s called the Environmental Health Criteria and will dictate WHO policy on wireless radiation for the foreseeable future.
Last week, the agency announced who will sit on an influential panel that will help decide what the document says. These are the people who’ll tell you whether cell phone radiation causes cancer or infertility.
