This week, Mary Holland, Children’s Health Defense president, and Polly Tommey, co-producer of “Vaxxed,” cover the latest headlines on COVID-19, Big Pharma and other issues, including news that there have been 664 reports of myocarditis in 5- to 17-year-olds after COVID vaccines.

Plus, Moderna announces that while its COVID vaccine is safe for babies and young children, its effectiveness is more of a mixed picture.

Polly and Mary also discussed that the Biden administration launched a taxpayer-funded advertising campaign featuring leading healthcare professionals urging parents to vaccinate their young children against COVID.

Also on tap this week: A woman dies from a rare brain disorder after her second Pfizer shot, and in a lab study, the Pfizer vaccine showed the potential to alter DNA in human liver cells.

Here are more of this week’s highlights:

  • Many experts expect COVID cases to rise soon. A new campaign focuses on booster shots, preventative drugs, post-infection treatments and masks. “This is one big pharmaceutical ad,” said Polly.
  • AstraZeneca’s Evusheld COVID preventative drug was approved in Europe. “This shows us it is all about money,” said Mary.
  • COVID vaccinations, including booster shots, fall to the lowest levels since 2020. “This is good news for people showing common sense,” said Mary.
  • Receiving multiple COVID vaccines can impair the immune system and disrupt the body’s natural ability to fight disease. “This is fantastic work,” said Mary. “There’s a lot of depth here and I highly recommend you read this article.”
  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now recommends a fourth COVID vaccine for individuals over 50.
  • Don’t let down your guard! While it may appear mandates are being lifted, the U.S. government still hasn’t ended the Emergency Powers Act. It’s more important than ever for people to follow the science. “It’s a great campaign and it’s very important,” said Mary. “Please check it out.”
  • Teenage girls are going to doctors and health clinics after experiencing tics and other disorders health officials believe stem from prolonged use of the social media app TikTok. “I couldn’t believe what I was reading here,” said Polly. “We see these tics all the time in Gardasil-injured teens.”
  • In the first study of its kind, published in Environment International, researchers found a “quantifiable mass” of plastic particles in the blood samples of 17 of 22 — or 80% — of the study’s volunteer participants. “The world has gone completely plastic,” said Polly. “Everything is wrapped in plastic.”
  • Ukraine’s Diia digital app already was one of the most expansive government-run digital ID systems in the world. But since the Feb. 24 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the app has been expanded for use as a digital wartime tool. “This is a very interesting dimension of the war,” said Mary.
  • CHD’s Africa chapter sees a victory over the University of Cape Town vaccine mandate. “Well done to them,” said Polly.
