This week, Mary Holland, Children’s Health Defense president, and Polly Tommey, co-producer of “Vaxxed,” covered the latest headlines on COVID-19, Big Pharma and other issues, including news that the latest data from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, or VAERS, include 1.2 million reports of injuries following COVID-19 vaccines.

Polly and Mary also discussed the Biden administration’s creation of a new bureau to fight the spread of “disinformation” online. Plus, Dr. Anthony Fauci announced the U.S. is “out of the pandemic phase.”

Also on tap this week: Bill Gates says the worst of COVID-19 is still to come.

More of this week’s highlights:
  • The developers of the “vaccine for the world” hope they can ease equity issues surrounding global vaccine distribution and end the pandemic. “This is essentially an attempt to make a low-cost COVID shot,” said Mary.
  • Health experts said that we have entered a new phase of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Former White House COVID-19 response coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx said although more than half of Americans have been infected with the COVID-19 virus or vaccinated, the U.S. has still not reached a herd immunity threshold to end the pandemic. “What we are seeing here is them pushing the blame,” said Polly.
  • When the next COVID-19 wave breaks, the U.S. won’t be able to spot it. Is surveillance the answer? “This is all about the data,” said Mary.
  • Two new strains of COVID-19 that appear to be more transmissible than even “stealth Omicron” — and that have the ability to evade antibodies — have arrived in the U.S.
  • Moderna asked the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to authorize the COVID-19 vaccine for children under age 6. “The data for these kids is shockingly low,” said Mary. “This is very disturbing.”
  • In a letter to the FDA, a committee asked for the status of COVID-19 vaccines for children 6 months to 5 years, claiming “millions of young children still remain unprotected because no vaccine has yet been authorized” for this age group.
  • COVID-19 vaccines could be authorized for the youngest children as early as June, according to the FDA. “There is no logic here,” said Mary.
  • Risk of Guillain-Barré syndrome after COVID-19 vaccines was low overall, but unusually high after the Johnson & Johnson shot, surveillance data showed.
  • Documents obtained from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services show lipid nanoparticles from Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine were found in the liver, ovaries and other organs 48 hours after injection, and Johnson & Johnson vaccine particles were present in test animals months after injection. “This is an in-depth article,” said Polly. “I highly recommend you read this.”
  • Reports of women shedding uterine lining surged in 2021, research shows. “This is not a myth,” said Mary. “The science is here.”
  • India’s Supreme Court directed the government to disclose results of COVID-19 vaccine trials and ruled that people can’t be forced to take vaccines. “This is extremely good news,” said Mary.
  • Denmark became the first country to suspend its national COVID-19 vaccine campaign after health officials said the pandemic is under control there. Meanwhile, the European Union is planning to announce a “post-emergency” phase.
  • The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is advising 1,800 people who were vaccinated for COVID-19 to get revaccinated because a pharmacy improperly stored and handled vaccines. “The answer seems to always be more vaccines,” said Mary.
  • Oregon launched an electronic COVID-19 vaccination card program. “I really hope people understand where this is going,” said Polly.
  • A new Mississippi law says the government cannot withhold services or refuse jobs to people who choose not to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • Schools in Washington D.C. can’t vaccinate children ages 11 and up without parental consent until lawsuits are settled. “This is really good news,” said Mary.
  • The FDA approved the use of the antiviral therapy remdesivir to treat COVID-19 in infants 4 weeks and older, despite having no evidence the treatment is effective or even safe for young children. “It’s hard to shock us, but this is shocking,” said Mary.
  • Health officials have recently reported 74 unexplained cases of severe hepatitis in children up to 10 years old. Is there a connection to COVID-19 vaccines? “This is disturbing,” said Mary.
  • Measles cases have surged nearly 80% this year amid disruption caused by COVID-19, the United Nations said. “This is one big Gates Foundation ad,” said Polly.
  • Infants born to mothers who were vaccinated with an investigational vaccine against RSV received antibodies across the placenta, with no “evident safety concerns,” results from a Phase 2b trial showed.
  • Pfizer said results of Phase 2 clinical trials of its experimental Lyme disease vaccine delivered “positive” results, including among pediatric trial participants. “This is so troubling,” said Mary. “I don’t like where this is going,” agreed Polly.
  • McKinsey & Company advised the FDA on the safety of opioids while at the same time advising Purdue on how to maximize sales, according to a U.S. House investigation. “This is really an important article to understand what we are up against,” said Mary.
  • Lab-grown meat and insects are “good for the planet and health,” according to researchers.
