This week, Mary Holland, Children’s Health Defense (CHD) president, and Polly Tommey, co-producer of “Vaxxed,” cover the latest COVID headlines, including new research suggesting the number of children hospitalized for COVID is overcounted, a letter from UK medical professionals expressing “grave concern” about vaccinating schoolchildren for COVID and a CDC investigation linking the COVID vaccine to heart problems in teens and young adults.
Mary and Polly also discuss plans for pediatrician offices to promote and give COVID vaccines to young patients, a report denying COVID vaccines cause infertility and a Moderna report that misleadingly claims its vaccine is 100% effective in children 12 to 17 two weeks after the second dose.
Here are a few of this week’s highlights:
- The White House is partnering with dating apps to include “vaccination stickers” on user’s profiles to incentivize the COVID jab. “The White House is becoming a used car salesman,” said Mary. “It’s spending billions of taxpayer dollars to sell these products.”
- College vaccination plans are confusing and entangled with “loopholes and legal issues.” A map of statewide COVID vaccination rules for public colleges and universities shows that a number of red states have outlawed COVID vaccine mandates while some blue states have permitted them. “This issue is so dividing,” said Mary. “It’s going to be very tough for the U.S. Federal Government to impose blanket restrictions.”
- Students are protesting mandatory COVID vaccinations at colleges. Sara Razi, a 21-year-old junior at Rutgers University in New Jersey, which is mandating COVID vaccines for all students, said, ″I’m not anti-vax, I’m anti-mandate.”
- A new guidance issued in Oregon says people who want to go maskless in most public indoor settings will need to show proof of vaccination. “This is all about segregation between vaccinated and unvaccinated people,” said Mary.
- The New York Department of Health issued new rules for childcare and summer camps that require young children over the age of two to wear masks. “The reason that New York state wants to keep the mask mandate in place for children under age 12 is that they need to have the reward of the vaccine be getting rid of your mask,” said Mary.
- Research shows COVID vaccines may not work on millions of people with underlying conditions, yet the CDC continues to recommend they get the shot.
- “Anti-vaxxers” should be denied access to healthcare, the right to travel and risk losing their job, wrote Sean O’Grady, editor of The Independent. “We’re seeing, in the name of health, full-on deprivation of healthcare to people who need it,” said Mary.
- Adult New Yorkers who get the COVID vaccine next week will get a free $5 Million Mega Multiplier Lottery scratch and win card.
- Drone companies are gearing up to use drones to deliver COVID vaccines to Americans living in rural areas.
- Judges in Georgia are offering some people with criminal offenses lesser sentences if they get the COVID vaccine.
