    Opposition to Smart Meters Installation Grows

    Nagpur: Even as MSEDCL completed installing 2.51 lakh smart meters in the district, the opposition to the new meters is growing. Two different protests were carried out at separate locations in the district against the smart meter installation.

    Members of Vidarbha Rajya Andolan Samiti (VRAS) set fire to a replica of a smart meter at Variety Chowk on Monday, warning the state govt to stop installing meters without public consent. The protest turned tense as police detained several activists after clashes broke out during the demonstration.
