‘Held Accountable’: Sen. Rand Paul Again Vows to Issue a Criminal Referral for Fauci
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., on Monday announced that he would revive his criminal referral against Dr. Anthony Fauci, adding yet another wrinkle to the ongoing Biden White House autopen saga. “Today I will reissue my criminal referral of Anthony Fauci to Trump DOJ,” Paul said on X.
It’s not the first time that Paul has issued a criminal referral against Fauci, who is the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and medical adviser to former President Joe Biden.
The first came in 2021, when Paul accused Fauci of lying to Congress about funding gain-of-function research for the COVID-19 virus at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The next came in 2023, again as part of Paul’s efforts to investigate the origins of the virus.
“Perjury is a crime,” Paul said. “And Fauci must be held accountable.” Fox News Digital reached out to Paul’s office for comment.
HHS Finalizes ‘Portion’ of Employee Layoffs Following Supreme Court Ruling
Federal News Network reported:
Many employees who received layoff notices from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in April are now officially separated from the agency, according to an email that went out Monday afternoon.
In an email obtained by Federal News Network, HHS told employees that the Supreme Court’s ruling on July 8 allows the department to proceed with “a portion” of its reduction-in-force plans. “Accordingly, you are hereby notified that you are officially separated from HHS at the close of business on July 14, 2025,” the email states.“Thank you for your service to the American people.”
HHS sent Reduction in Force (RIF) notices to 10,000 employees on April 1. Another 10,000 employees left by accepting voluntary separation incentives. Altogether, the department is cutting about 25% of its staff.
RFK Jr.: ‘No Cuts on Medicaid’ in ‘Big, Beautiful’ Law
U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Monday refuted the existence of Medicaid cuts due to President Trump’s megabill of tax and spending cuts. “First of all, there’s no cuts on Medicaid. There is a — there’s a diminishment of the growth rate of Medicaid, which is bankrupting our country. And, by the way, the national debt is also a determinant — a social determinant — of health,” Kennedy told Fox Business Network’s Larry Kudlow on his show.
“If we’re leaving our kids with these giant debts, they can’t afford health care. They can’t afford good food,” he added. The “big, beautiful bill” cuts about $1 trillion from Medicaid, mostly through strict work requirements and reductions to how states can fund their Medicaid programs via provider taxes and state-directed payments.
The majority of the cuts will not happen soon, but rural hospitals in particular have said they likely will have to make difficult financial decisions on which services they can afford to hold onto and which may need to be cut.
Despite RFK Jr’s Public Hesitancy, HHS Quietly Pushes Forward With Hemorrhagic Fever Vaccine Plans
In a revealing piece published by The Independent, journalist Mike Bedigan highlights a quiet move by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to begin development of two new vaccines — one for Marburg virus and another for Sudan ebolavirus — despite ongoing public skepticism from HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
A pre-solicitation notice posted June 27 by the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority frames the initiative as part of the federal government’s preparedness against biological threats, citing case fatality rates up to 90% for both pathogens.
