Fauci ‘Violated’ Physician Oath With Covid Shutdowns, Vaccine Push, Top Doctor Tells Pod Force One
Anthony Fauci “violated his oath as a physician” when he advocated for massive shutdowns during the COVID pandemic and pushed vaccines as the “solution to everything,” Dr. Monique Yohanan charged in an interview for The Post’s Pod Force One podcast.
Yohanan, a fellow with the International Women’s Forum who advised the White House on the new vaccine schedule, told The Post’s Miranda Devine that Fauci “certainly does not lack for ego.” “Throughout his career, [he] has been very committed to the idea of vaccines as sort of the solution to everything,” she said.
Fauci, who helped lead the nation’s COVID response, faced heavy criticism for advocating for the public shutdowns of schools and businesses so people could social distance during the pandemic. “He wanted the glory of this, but he has had no interest in any of the accountability,” Yohanan said on the podcast, which aired Wednesday.
EPA Considers Further Narrowing Clean Water Act Protections
The Trump administration on Friday said it will consider further narrowing protections for streams and wetlands under the Clean Water Act. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Army Corps of Engineers issued a supplemental proposed rule that they said would be likely to reduce the bodies of water that are under the Clean Water Act’s jurisdiction if its changes are adopted.
It would be expected to reduce the number of waters subject to the Clean Water Act in the West. That means development or pollution in these streams and wetlands would no longer require a permit or potential mitigation.
The new changes come on top of an already proposed rule by the agencies that is also expected to narrow the Clean Water Act’s applicability. The additional proposal could narrow it further.
States Sue Over Move to End Federal Funds for Youth Gender Transition Treatment
Twenty-one states led by Democrats sued on Wednesday to block a Department of Health and Human Services plan to bar federal payments from Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program for gender-transition medication and surgery to transgender adolescents.
The new rule, announced last month, is set to go into effect in October. The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Massachusetts, argues that the new rule oversteps the Trump administration’s authority and fails to justify its restrictions. The suit said the rule violates the law by blocking reimbursements for treatments that some states have determined to be medically necessary.
How the Data Center Backlash Is Growing in U.S. Statehouses
As public backlash erupts against data centers, AI companies have found themselves in a race with state lawmakers. Companies are rushing to construct facilities for the servers that power their platforms. Legislators, across the country and the political spectrum, are increasingly racing to limit them.
State lawmakers have already introduced at least 375 bills on data centers this year, according to an analysis of legislative records by The Washington Post. Just over halfway through 2026, that number exceeds the total number of such bills in the three previous years combined. Roughly three-quarters of those bills introduced this year seek to restrict data centers in some way.
As with most legislation, a majority of the bills failed to pass, The Post’s analysis found, though many are still pending.
Pentagon Delays PFAS Cleanup at Over 200 Military Sites for the Third Time
The Pentagon is again delaying its timelines to clean up “forever chemicals” at hundreds of contaminated military sites across the United States, the third time in a year the department has extended estimates for completing a key phase of the cleanups.
The latest update will change the schedule at 243 installations, a senior Defense Department official told NOTUS on Wednesday.
The official acknowledged that the dates at those installations are being pushed back, while arguing the changes should not be interpreted as a slowdown in the Pentagon’s effort to address contamination from the chemicals known as PFAS.
Instead, the official said the new dates reflect expanding investigations, evolving regulatory standards and additional work needed as the department learns more about contamination at individual sites. “Every time we peel those things back, we find more work, and we continue to want to make sure that we get this right,” the official said.
