Ex-Trump Health Official Shocked by Fauci’s ‘Unabashed Narcissism’ From Diaries

The Hill reported:

A former Trump health official on Tuesday slammed Dr. Anthony Fauci over his recently released journal entries. “I’d like to see honesty and transparency and I’d like Tony to come clean with all the things that he’s really been caught in contradictions,” Dr. Brett Giroir, a former assistant secretary for health at the Department of Health and Human Services, told NewsNation’s Blake Burman on “The Hill,” discussing upcoming congressional testimony from Fauci.

“And yes, I’m shocked by his unabashed narcissism, you know, worrying about his fame when all of us were worrying about the 1,000 or 2,000 people dying the next day. It’s really kind of sickening,” he added, referencing Fauci’s diary entries. “But, you know, I don’t think we need to be that salacious. I want to get down to the issues.”

From TV Doctor to Power Broker: Dr. Oz Thrives on Trump’s Team

Bloomberg reported:

Mehmet Oz has happily spent recent months touting negotiations with drug manufacturers and seeking to root out fraud driving up federal spending on healthcare. All the while, he’s been scrupulously loyal to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Health and Human Services Secretary.

Behind the scenes, Oz declined to make a play for the top US health job as the White House overhauled the agency’s leadership earlier this year, according to people familiar with the discussions. As Kennedy’s health department has been roiled by pervasive management issues and chaotic policy rollouts, chatter across Washington has intensified over how long the controversial health chief has in the job.

Oz, meanwhile, has cultivated not only a close relationship with President Donald Trump, but a reputation as a surprisingly serious operator in an administration where few have translated their outside celebrity to bureaucratic competence or job security. As a result, there’s a growing perception that the 66-year-old administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has become the heir apparent to lead the health department if Kennedy departs.

Laura Ingraham Stands at Fauci Hearing Alongside Others ‘Shamed’ During COVID-19

The Hill reported:

Fox News host Laura Ingraham was on hand to watch Dr. Anthony Fauci answer questions at Wednesday’s Senate hearing, sitting behind him and standing up when Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) asked about people being “shamed” during the COVID-19 pandemic.

When Moreno requested people in the audience stand up if they had controversial beliefs or actions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and may have faced backlash for those beliefs or actions, Ingraham stood. “All you have to do is look up from your lawyers, and look at the people who were absolutely shamed for saying what we know now to be the truth,” Moreno told Fauci during the hearing.

Ingraham, as the COVID-19 pandemic was raging in the U.S., criticized the use of coronavirus vaccines and said that Americans should not have to receive them.

Navy Requires Flu Vaccine for New Recruits, Officer Candidates

USNI News reported:

Some Navy personnel will still be required to get the influenza vaccine this fall, according to the sea service’s updated flu guidance. Recruits going to boot camp, sailors in Officer Candidate School and other officer accession programs, Naval Academy midshipmen and those in the academy preparatory program must receive the flu vaccine this year, according to the new guidance released Friday.

Having recruits receive the vaccine follows an updated policy from the Pentagon, which restored the flu vaccine mandate after a flu outbreak in June at the Air Force’s boot camp. In addition to those attending boot camp, any Navy personnel assigned to or participating in initial entry training will need the vaccine, reads the Navy policy.

Deployed sailors who are in or going to an area where there is influenza or where the country has flu vaccine requirements must also get the vaccine.

Healthcare personnel or reservists who deal with patients, as well as naval civilians in child development and youth services programs, are also required to get the vaccine. Reservists in chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear enhanced response enterprise members will also need to get the vaccine. Navy medicine will administer the vaccine by Jan. 15, 2027, the guidance reads.

F.D.A. Official Says Food Supply Is Safe as Cyclosporiasis Cases Climb

The New York Times reported:

Even as the number of cyclospora cases in the United States hit record levels, top health regulators insisted that consumers could still trust what they were eating.

“The U.S. food supply is safe,” Donald Prater, the acting deputy commissioner for food at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, told attendees Monday at the annual meeting of the International Association for Food Protection.

“However, there’s a couple of challenges,” he said, referring to the cyclosporiasis outbreaks that have sickened more than 11,000 people across the country. “It will take a little time. But we do believe we’re taking action and we’re protecting public health.”
