In an interview Saturday with the New York Post, Dr. Mehmet Oz, the medical entrepreneur and television host running for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania, called for Dr. Anthony Fauci to be “removed” and “held accountable.”
“Dr. Anthony Fauci has lost the faith and confidence of the American people,” Oz told the New York Post. “It’s time for a new face talking to the American people, one that is more trusted.”
Oz referenced documents released by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in September contradicting claims Fauci made to the U.S. Congress that the NIH did not fund gain-of-function experiments — designed to make viruses more lethal and more transmissible — at the Institute of Virology in Wuhan, China.
“I believe Anthony Fauci should be held accountable for misleading, whether willfully or unintentionally, the American public and the United States Congress,” Oz said.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) and animal rights organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals have similarly called for Dr. Fauci to resign.
In Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s best-selling book — “The Real Anthony Fauci: Bill Gates, Big Pharma, and the Global War on Democracy and Public Health” — Kennedy documents how Fauci “partnered with the Pentagon to approve taxpayer-funded ‘gain-of-function’ experiments to breed pandemic superbugs in poorly regulated labs in Wuhan, China, and elsewhere, under conditions that almost certainly guaranteed the escape of weaponized microbes like SARS-CoV-2.”
Children’s Health Defense asks anyone concerned about gain-of-function research and Fauci’s false statements to Congress to ask President Biden and Congress to investigate the matter.
