Nolan E. Bowman is a freelance science reporter for The Defender. Nolan holds a master’s degree in english and a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies. He has worked for more than a decade as a forest canopy ecologist studying old-growth redwoods of the Pacific Northwest and Giant Sequoias, participating in the study that appeared in the December 2012 feature story of National Geographic. He is a lifelong advocate (and teaches all who will listen) of holistic healing, food as medicine and the incredible healing powers of the immune system. “The Renaissance of Medicine will only happen when we teach ourselves to be our own doctors.”
