Thank you for taking action for Spring Lake.

Your message helps make it clear that Spring Lake residents want the Borough Council to postpone the September 15 vote on the proposed Verizon settlement and engage in meaningful discussions with the community before moving forward.

Please consider taking an extra step and calling the mayor and Borough Council members to impress upon them the importance of postponing the vote on the settlement and including residents in decisions on wireless permitting.

Here is a script you can use and adapt:

Hello, my name is [NAME], and I’m calling to ask the Spring Lake Borough Council to postpone the September 15 vote on the proposed Verizon settlement.

Residents have serious concerns that this settlement favors Verizon and could open the door to additional wireless installations on Borough property without adequate safeguards or meaningful public participation.

I am asking the Borough to postpone the vote and engage in open and transparent discussions with residents about the settlement and the best path forward for Spring Lake.

If the settlement is brought to a vote on September 15, I am asking you to speak out against it and vote NO.

Thank you for listening to Spring Lake residents and protecting our community.

Here are their phone numbers:

  • Mayor Jennifer Naughton (732) 449-0800
  • Council President Brendan Judge (908) 216-6623
  • Councilman Joseph Erbe (732) 449-9511
  • Councilman Edwin Hale (732) 814-9778
  • Councilwoman Kathleen McDonough (732) 664-4999
  • Councilwoman Syd Whalley (310) 994-9602

Please also encourage your friends, neighbors, and other Spring Lake residents to take action too. The more residents who speak out, the harder it will be for the Borough to ignore the community’s concerns.
