Holistic Vet Reveals Veterinary Medicine’s Dark Underbelly in New Memoir Published by CHD

Washington, D.C. — Children’s Health Defense (CHD) announced today the publication of holistic veterinarian Marcie Fallek’s memoir, “Little Miracles Everywhere: My Unorthodox Path to Holistic Veterinary Medicine.” A graduate of the University of Bologna’s Veterinary School, Dr. Fallek chronicles the evolution of her medical practice – from using traditional veterinary approaches that emphasize expensive surgical procedures and pharmacological interventions to exploring alternative treatments that optimize the health of her patients. By putting her patients’ welfare above their profit potential, she found herself reevaluating her definition of “good medicine.”
When her own dog, Annie, developed an intractable autoimmune condition, standard veterinary practice fell short. After several failed surgeries, Dr. Fallek found an acupuncturist with a reputation for “working miracles” who ultimately determined that a vaccine for Lyme disease had most likely triggered Annie’s autoimmune disease.
Resolving to find better options for her patients and her own pets, Dr. Fallek studied acupuncture and homeopathy, often saving lives when mainstream medical approaches could not. After risking her job to speak out about pet stores that buy from puppy mills, Dr. Fallek committed to a different way of practicing medicine — one that honors both the bodies and spirits of her patients and their “people.”
Licensed to practice in New York, Connecticut, and Florida, Dr. Fallek is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture and trained in Classical Homeopathy.
“Dr. Fallek is one of few vets doing this courageous and important work,” says internationally published clinical research veterinarian, W. Jean Dodds. “She’s unafraid to speak the truth about the underlying causes of many diseases in pets. She uses holistic medicine, which integrates body, mind, and spirit, to prevent and treat disease.”
Dr. Kim Ruska agrees, “Little Miracles Everywhere” is “funny, smart, engrossing, and inspirational. Anyone looking for a fascinating perspective on the sometimes heartbreaking world of veterinary medicine needs to read this book!” And certified holistic nutritionist Jessica DiDonato says, “If you have a four-legged friend, you have to get your paws on this book and read it for yourself!”
“Little Miracles Everywhere” is available now at Amazon and other major booksellers.
