Children’s Health Defense filed its response to the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) brief on Monday in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. The case against the FCC is challenging the agency’s refusal to review its 25-year-old obsolete wireless “health guidelines” and to adopt scientific, biologically-based radio frequency emissions rules that adequately protect public health.
“The only concern [the FCC] showed in this brief [is] maximizing industry profits no matter what the cost to human health, to the American public. This is an industry that has used political clout to disable democracy; to capture the agencies that Congress created to protect us, protect human health, protect little children, vulnerable little children, from greedy corporations; to corrupt our politicians; to conduct their decisions with no transparency, completely dictated behind closed doors by the industry that they’re supposed to regulate. And there’s no better showcase for the pervasive corruption—that now infects, that has metastasized throughout this agency—than reading the briefs in this case and seeing the absolute lack of defense that they put up to defend their behavior on any terms that have anything to do with anything other than making sure that their industry pays as little attention as possible to human health and maximizes and commoditizes our landscapes, commoditizes nature, commoditizes our children, and turns… liquidates the American landscapes and the American citizens for cash. And turns that cash into profit for themselves.”
