This week, Mary Holland, Children’s Health Defense (CHD) president, and Polly Tommey, CHD.TV programming manager, covered the latest headlines on COVID-19, Big Pharma and other issues, including news that in the past few weeks, a series of analyses published by highly respected researchers have exposed the truth about public health officials during COVID-19: Much of the time, they were wrong.

Polly and Mary also discussed that a Wall Street Journal editorial board member called out the press and public health officials — who are now affirming “natural immunity” protects against COVID-19 — for spending three years disparaging natural immunity despite overwhelming evidence supporting it.

Plus, a U.S. Department of Energy report concluded COVID-19 emerged from a laboratory leak in Wuhan, China, and the agency — along with the FBI and the U.S. Department of State — is now under the microscope of a Congressional committee investigation.

Also on tap this week: A prominent Wuhan Institute of Virology coronavirus research scientist was denied permission to use the biosafety level 4 (BSL4) lab for gain-of-function experiments, according to a U.S. State Department cable obtained by U.S. Right to Know, suggesting Chinese officials had concerns about the lab’s safety protocols.

More of this week’s highlights:

  • The House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic presented the testimony of four public health experts, including Martin Kulldorff, Ph.D., who described the government’s response as the “worst public health mistakes in history.” “Let’s hope this is the first of many many more,” said Mary.
  • CHD is funding a lawsuit by a D.C. mother alleging a doctor vaccinated two of her children for COVID-19 without her consent after falsely telling the teens the shots were required for school. “This is a really important lawsuit,” said Mary. “This is the exploitation of children.”
  • Experts told The Defender the proposed amendments to the World Health Organization’s (WHO) International Health Regulations would give the agency unprecedented power over national governments and override national sovereignty. “If we don’t want to go through this again, we can’t give the WHO more power,” said Mary.
  • A Boulder County Public Health campaign to persuade parents — especially Latinos — of children ages 0 to 11 to vaccinate their kids for COVID-19 has some of the Colorado county’s parents up in arms.
  • After lambasting mainstream media for its coverage of COVID-19 news, comedian and political commentator Russell Brand said we need to create “our own channels, our own media, our own communication so that we can reach truth together.” “We are grateful for his work,” said Mary.
  • The Novak Djokovic vaccine saga has extended into 2023. The world’s No. 1 Serbian tennis star was denied entry into the U.S. because he wasn’t vaccinated against COVID-19, forcing him to withdraw from the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California. “There is no rationale for this whatsoever,” said Mary.
  • The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Recombivax HB, the hepatitis B vaccine for newborns, based on clinical trials performed on only 147 infants and children who were monitored for just five days. “There has never been justification for this shot,” said Mary. “Zero rationale, but billions of dollars.”
  • Merck researchers published a study suggesting evidence shows that moving routine HPV vaccination to ages 9 to 10, instead of 11 or 12 as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention currently recommends, may improve vaccination coverage rates in early and mid-adolescence. Critics called out the vaccine maker for focusing on profits, not health. “This is unbelievable,” said Polly.
  • California Assembly Bill 659, also known as the “Cancer Prevention Act,” was introduced on Feb. 9 and seeks to add the HPV vaccine Gardasil to the list of vaccines required for boys and girls in grades 8-12 to attend public or private schools in California. Gardasil can cause serious and debilitating adverse reactions for both boys and girls. “This would require children to receive Gardasil,” said Mary. “A reckless recommendation.”
  • Fears are rising about bird flu’s potential to spark a human pandemic, and destroy wildlife and farmed birds. “You can’t make it up,” said Polly.
  • Researchers who tested 21 brands of toilet paper and found “forever chemicals” in all of them said the findings should raise public health concerns because wastewater and its byproducts are frequently spread on agricultural fields to help grow crops. “These forever chemicals are really really bad,” said Mary.
  • Washington joined more than a dozen states seeking to crack down on toxic substances in cosmetics after a state-funded study found lead, arsenic and formaldehyde in makeup, lotion and hair-straightening products. “It is really important to look at the ingredients in everything,” said Mary.
  • Based on the results of their landmark review of the latest science, four of the world’s top experts in environmental health called for prevention and precaution when it comes to public exposure to radiofrequency radiation, which they found causes cancer.
  • Machine-learning models like the one that powers ChatGPT are generating essays, short stories and entire podcasts. But scientists are looking into another way of computing that could be just as efficient and powerful, and it’s in our brains: brain-machine technology. “This is disturbing,” said Polly.
  • The fake meat industry, predicted to be worth $3 trillion, is being touted as an environmentally friendly and sustainable way to feed the world. But the rise of fake meat and other animal foods is nothing more than an attempt to create global control. “Stay far far away from these fake meats,” said Mary.
  • The Attack on Food Symposium and Solutions to Fight Back. “I learned so much from this event,” said Polly. “It was wonderful and very informative.”
