Leila Centner Tells RFK Jr.: My Academy Welcomes Unvaccinated, Unmasked Students — and Is Hiring New Teachers

Leila Centner, founder of Centner Academy in Miami, Florida, says schools nationwide have made students feel anxious and fearful of one another. Her academy allows kids to be kids, and does not hide students behind plexiglass or force social distancing.

Leila Centnerspeaks with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., on the RFK Jr. The Defender Podcast.

Editor’s note: Centner Academy is hiring teachers, especially for 4th and 5th grade. If you’re interested, please email your resume and cover letter to careers@centneracademy.com or click here to learn more.

During the pandemic, schools have taught children to be anxious and fearful, Centner told Children’s Health Defense Chairman Robert F. Kennedy Jr., on the “RFK Jr. The Defender Podcast.”

The academy is an oasis, said Kennedy a safe place where children feel comfortable being close to each other, and aren’t viewing their classmates as potential biohazards.

Students were not forced to social distance or hide behind plexiglass, said Centner. There was no science to support those kind of restrictions, she added.

When the academy reopened in September 2020, Centner was given a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention document that had “pages and pages of ridiculous restrictions.” She tossed the document aside and did her own research on how to keep kids safe at school without making them feel scared and anxious.

Centner purchased UV lights, which kill 99.99% of viruses, and placed them in the HVAC systems, she explained. She also doubled their cleaning crew and bought hydrogen peroxide, which Centner said is the most effective and safest way to clean without harming the brain.

Centner told Kennedy:

“I didn’t separate them during lunch. I didn’t have these corny rules that they couldn’t talk during lunch. This is what’s happening in schools all over the country, and in Florida. Right up the street, one of the schools, the kids aren’t allowed to speak to each other during lunch. Their playground equipment has been removed because playground equipment, I guess, carries germs. Schools all over the world are teaching children to be anxious, to be afraid of germs, to be afraid of each other.”

Listen to the full interview to hear how Centner was attacked by The New York Times and the Miami Herald for asking the school’s teachers not to get the COVID vaccine.
