Tributes poured in over the weekend following the news that Dr. Jackie Stone, who came under fire for treating COVID-19 patients in Zimbabwe with ivermectin, reportedly took her own life on Oct. 3.

According to the FLCCC, Dr. Stone was a senior fellow specializing in holistic and integrative medicine based in Zimbabwe. She graduated cum laude with an MBChB from the University of Cape Town and pursued an honors degree in medical biochemistry and molecular genetics. She had extensive experience in travel, aviation, and rural and remote medicine.

Dr. Stone was a “tireless advocate for patient autonomy, transparency, and the restoration of medical ethics,” FLCCC wrote. “All of us at the FLCCC are devastated by the news” of her passing.

Although Dr. Stone was credited with saving millions of lives with her protocol for early treatment of COVID-19, Zimbabwe’s medical authorities targeted her.

Shabnam Palesa Mohamed, executive director of Children’s Health Defense Africa, wrote:

“Jackie faced censorship and injustice for daring to save lives during C19, for going against the establishment, for being a healer. She deserves our respect. But she was clear. The oppressors was not Zimbabwean, but Big Pharma. So when South Africans picketed about her court case, we know who the real enemy is.”

Zimbabwe’s Registrar of the Medical Council in September 2023 found Dr. Stone guilty of two of the four charges they levied against her. The registrar restricted her medical license, after dragging her through court 27 times.

Dr. E.V. Rapiti, a family physician and friend of Dr. Stone, wrote:

“Today, as I reflect upon her death and the way she ended it, I can only imagine what pain and suffering she endured after she was callously stripped of her licence by the shameless cold-hearted board members, who didn’t give a hoot about the millions of lives that Jackie saved in Zimbabwe and the rest of the world.

“She became the revered hero all over the world for her simple, inexpensive approach to tame COVID but that didn’t seem to matter at all to the ignorant captured members of the medical board.”

Doc Malik wrote this about Dr. Stone:

“Jackie had a rich, gravelly voice and a way of talking that commanded respect. When she spoke, I listened. That first call made it clear that Jackie was passionate about patient autonomy and medical ethics. She dedicated her career to ensuring individuals had complete control over their healthcare decisions.

“She championed the idea that patients should be empowered to make informed choices about their health and pushed for open, transparent communication between doctors and patients, challenging many of the norms in modern healthcare.”
