On August 10, President Trump signed an executive order that emphasized the need for the U.S. childhood vaccine schedule to be scaled back and more carefully studied, and for parental authority and religious freedom to be upheld in vaccination considerations.
While all vaccines carry risks and the executive order does not address all of the numerous and legitimate concerns of citizens, this is the first time in U.S. history that a sitting President has placed vaccine safety issues front and center. There is much work left to do, but this is a substantial step forward for the vaccine safety movement.
Please take a moment to thank President Trump for issuing the executive order. Comments can be directed to the President using the contact form provided on the official White House website: www.whitehouse.gov/contact. Dear President Trump,
I’m writing to thank you for your vigilance in ensuring that the routine childhood vaccine schedule is as safe as possible and for returning power to parents in making vaccination decisions for their families. Mandates have no place in a free society, especially when medical interventions – all of which carry risks – are involved.
In recent decades, as more and more vaccines were added to the childhood schedule, the overall health of children in this country has declined precipitously while rates of autism have soared. There are powerful interests that have invested tremendous resources into stifling any questions regarding vaccine safety, and I appreciate your courage in issuing an executive order that directly addresses the need for a better understanding of the safety of these medical interventions.
Your directive to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and to HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to conduct and ensure continuous evaluation of the risks and benefits of vaccines and to improve vaccine safety monitoring, transparency, and research will be vitally important as we move forward toward a vaccination program that actually makes sense. These undertakings have been ignored by previous administrations to the detriment of our children.
As you know, the United States ranks higher in infant mortality rates than any other developed nation, including the highest first-day-of-life death rates among those countries. While mainstream media has ignored such troubling details, Americans deserve to know if these mortality rates are due in part to vaccines administered to newborns and toddlers on a schedule that has been far more aggressive than other industrialized countries until now. The new approach to vaccination launched with your executive order should shed light on any links between early vaccination and infant mortality.
I’m grateful for the executive order’s charge to the Attorney General to restore and uphold parental authority across the country when it comes to vaccine choice, and to ensure that the religious freedom upon which our nation was founded is no longer threatened by state vaccine mandates.
Thank you, Mr. President, for prioritizing children’s health and religious freedom over industry profits and conflicted government agency agendas.
