Tell the IACC to Prioritize Vaccine Injury Research in Its Strategic Plan

On July 20, the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee (IACC) released a working draft of its 2026–2028 strategic plan which provides recommendations to the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) regarding autism research, services, support, policies, and more.

Parents of vaccine-injured children have long criticized the IACC’s research priorities for ignoring the vaccine/autism link. The widely-held hope within the medical freedom movement was that the current committee, convened by HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., would take a decisive turn in its strategic plan by emphasizing the causative role vaccines play in the development of autism in many of those affected by the disorder.

However, there is currently no mention of vaccines anywhere in the 336-page document.

The IACC’s next meeting was scheduled for July 31 but was postponed until August 27 to allow more time for public comment since the strategic plan was released just the previous week. The deadline for comments is August 20, 2026.

Approximately 50% of parents of children with autism believe their children were injured by vaccines. Clearly, this is a topic worth the IACC’s time to consider in making its recommendations. We have until August 20 to convince the committee to do so.

In addition to telling your personal story, let the committee members know why it’s crucial to address vaccines in the strategic plan. Here are some points to consider in writing your comment:

• Skyrocketing rates of neurological disorders including autism in recent decades are in lockstep with increasing vaccines added to the routine childhood schedule.
• Vaccinated children have at least a 170% higher chance of being diagnosed with autism compared to unvaccinated children.
• Over 250 scientific studies indicate multiple associations between vaccines and autism.
• Government health agencies have never conducted the most obvious studies that would confirm or refute links between vaccines and autism: wide-scale comparisons of health outcomes in vaccinated and unvaccinated populations.
• Numerous small-scale vaccinated/unvaccinated studies confirm a link between vaccines and an array of negative health outcomes including autism.
• The package insert for Sanofi Pasteur’s Tripedia DTaP vaccine listed autism (as well as SIDS, encephalopathy, and convulsion among others) as a potential adverse event.
