Jan. 15 Deadline! Tell the FCC to Stop Cell Towers In Your Neighborhood
This is a hill to die on. Submit your comments to the FCC before Jan. 15, and urge your local elected officials to push back against unchecked cell tower expansion.
January 8, 2026
This is a critical follow-up on the proposed rules by the FCC (WT Docket No. 25-276) that would strip away virtually all remaining power over cell towers and antennas from local governments and fast-track 5G deployment into every neighborhood across the country.
If these rules are adopted, cell towers and antennas will pop up everywhere, even right next to our homes and children’s schools. We need your help now to tell the FCC these proposed rules are a No-Go!
The deadline to file reply comments is January 15. Reply comments allow us to push back against false telecom industry claims, support local control, communities, health, and the environment, and strengthen the administrative record for potential litigation. Make your voice heard now by submitting a short statement supporting strong local zoning authority, meaningful public participation, and compliance with federal health and environmental obligations.
Add your voice today:
- Make your comment part of the official record. Use the instructions below to submit a clear statement opposing the proposed rules.
- Alert your local officials (mayors, city council members, zoning and planning board members, as well as any additional officials whom you know personally) and ask them to submit comments on your community’s behalf. Share our sample letter (available in Microsoft Word, Google Doc, and PDF format) which can be adapted to the particulars of your community.

Suggested Short Comment Text:
If adopted, the proposed rules and contemplated actions in the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in Docket 25-276 will allow the wireless industry to indiscriminately place unsightly and harmful infrastructure near residences, schools, parks, beaches, historic sites, and other sensitive areas. Local authorities will be powerless and ordinary people will suffer degradation of health, property values, and community character, while the wireless industry profits.
Rather than charging ahead to accelerate wireless deployment, the FCC must adopt a precautionary approach by turning its attention to revising its flawed and outdated radiofrequency exposure guidelines, as ordered by a federal court over four years ago!
