Last Chance: Tell HHS About Your Wireless Radiation Experience
HHS is accepting public comments on electromagnetic fields, radiofrequency radiation and wireless technology through Oct. 21. Families, physicians and communities are speaking up, but time is running out. This is your final chance to make your voice heard — Children’s Health Defense urges you to speak up and submit your comment to HHS today.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking public input on possible harms to human health and the environment from exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF), radiofrequency (RF) radiation and wireless technology.
Tomorrow is the last day for families, healthcare professionals, researchers and communities to share their experiences, observations, research and concerns directly with the federal government.
And people are responding.
Real experiences raise important questions
Public comments describe concerns involving smart meters, cell towers, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and other wireless technologies.
One parent described a child who experienced daily headaches after moving into a home with a smart meter near his bedroom. The parent reported that the headaches stopped after the meter was replaced.
A former telecommunications professional shared concerns about a meningioma diagnosis following more than 20 years in the wireless industry and called for research into occupational RF exposure and brain tumor risk.
A neurologist urged HHS to investigate cumulative exposure, consider children’s vulnerability, assess RF levels in schools and establish a system for physicians to report suspected RF-related health effects.
Another commenter described a 5G small cell pole installed near her bedroom window, reporting that her family experienced health concerns after activation and eventually moved.
These individual accounts raise questions about long-term exposure, public transparency, community input and the need for further investigation.
CHD adds its voice
Children’s Health Defense (CHD) CEO Mary Holland and the CHD Advocacy Department have also submitted comments, emphasizing the importance of independent research, transparency and attention to gaps in current scientific knowledge.
CHD urges HHS to examine potential health and environmental effects, including impacts on children and pregnancy, cumulative exposure and whether existing safety standards adequately address current wireless environments.
Now it’s your turn
You don’t have to be a scientist to participate. HHS is seeking relevant experiences, observations, research and information from the public.
Your comment can address:
- Personal or family experiences and professional observations
- Research and scientific evidence
- Concerns about children, pregnancy and long-term exposure
- Experiences involving cell towers, antennas, Wi-Fi and smart meters
- Cumulative exposure and current safety standards
- Questions HHS should investigate through future research
Your submission will become part of the public record and can help inform HHS’ review and research priorities.
The deadline is Oct. 21, 2026.
