Help Save Homeopathy: Tell your federal legislators to support the Homeopathic Medicines Act!

The Homeopathic Drug Product Safety, Quality and Transparency Act (Homeopathic Medicines Act for short) has been introduced in the Senate as S.4692. The House version, H.R.7050, was introduced in January 2026. Federal lawmakers need to hear from all of us regarding the importance of maintaining access to homeopathic remedies.

The 1938 Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act legally defined homeopathic remedies as drugs but since that time, no clear framework for the manufacture and marketing of these remedies has been established. The Homeopathic Medicines Act will finally change that, setting up a clear and sensible legal framework for the manufacture and marketing of crucial homeopathic medicines that will ensure long-term stability for manufacturers, practitioners and consumers, enhancing access to these medicines.

These affordable medicines are used every day in clinical settings by a broad range of health care providers, including physicians, nurses, and dentists, among others. Nontoxic by design, homeopathic medicines have an unparalleled record of safety, far exceeding the record of conventional drugs and even foods.

The Homeopathic Medicines Act will:

• Create a legal pathway for human and animal homeopathic medicines to stay on the market
• Protect the full range of homeopathic remedies – current and future – that meet safety and quality standards
• Stop the FDA from removing entire categories of medicines while retaining the power to remove unsafe or adulterated products
• Establish safety rules tailored to the unique nature of homeopathy – just as Congress has done for supplements, compounded medicines, and medical devices
