You did it again! The D.C. Council has removed the mandate requiring COVID-19 vaccinations for students attending school this fall. This marks another big victory for medical freedom and ensures that all D.C. students are allowed to attend school, regardless of their vaccination status.

Thank you for taking action and making your voices heard!

On Thursday, June 22, the D.C. Council will hold a public hearing on Bill 25-0278, the School Student Vaccination Amendment Act of 2023, which seeks to end the COVID-19 vaccination requirement for D.C. students.

The kids in D.C. need you to take immediate action so ALL students are allowed to attend school this fall, regardless of their COVID-19 vaccination status. We must emphasize to the council that mandating these vaccines — which do not stop infection or transmission — is scientifically unethical and morally reprehensible.

Although enforcement has been delayed twice, Washington, D.C., is the only jurisdiction in the country with an active COVID-19 vaccine mandate in place for schoolchildren.

The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) first announced the mandate on July 19, 2022, requiring the COVID-19 vaccine for D.C. children aged 12 and older to attend school. On Aug. 26, 2022, OSSE delayed compliance until Jan. 3, 2023. Yet another delay was announced by OSSE on Nov. 10, 2022, stating it would not enforce the mandate until the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year.

Now, seemingly due to public pressure, two sponsors of the original bill that enacted the vaccine mandate have done an about-face by introducing this new legislation (B25-0278) to remove the requirement.

If B25-0278 does not pass, children aged 12 and older cannot return to school in the fall unless they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19, even though these vaccines do not prevent transmission or infection and carry the risk of serious side effects like myocarditis, pericarditis, multi-inflammatory syndrome (MIS), pulmonary embolism, sudden cardiac death, and neuropathic and autonomic disorders.

It is time to end this mandate for good and maintain parents’ right to decide whether to vaccinate their children without coercion.
