What if taking greater ownership of your health began with getting back to the basics — asking questions, thinking critically, and having honest conversations about the choices that shape our health and well-being?

The 3rd Back to Basics Conference is coming to Framingham, Massachusetts, on Saturday, Oct. 17, bringing together physicians, researchers, advocates, farmers, and members of the community for a day of conversation, education, and practical tools for taking a more active role in personal health.

The conference grew out of a desire to create space for thoughtful dialogue and a more individualized approach to healthcare.

After a long hiatus from nursing to raise my family, I returned to the field at the onset of COVID-19. I was struck by how much nursing and medicine had changed and by what I saw as a growing need for personalized care, meaningful doctor-patient relationships, confidentiality, informed consent, and critical thinking.

Those concerns inspired me to form and host the inaugural Back to Basics Conference in 2023.

Now in its third year, Back to Basics continues that conversation with the Summit on Health & Wellness, featuring Dr. Peter McCullough, Dr. Sherri Tenpenny, Dr. Christiane Northrup, Dr. Larry Palevsky, and regenerative farmer Daniel Salatin.

The Summit is designed to encourage curiosity, thoughtful questions, and open discussion around the many factors that influence health. Rather than focusing solely on what happens in a doctor’s office, Back to Basics takes a whole-person view of wellness.

That perspective extends from the health of our soil and the food we eat to the choices we make for our bodies, minds, and families.

The goal is to give attendees information, practical tools, and community as they navigate an increasingly complex health landscape and consider what it means to take greater ownership of their own well-being.

The conference is open to the community and welcomes anyone interested in learning, asking questions, engaging in meaningful conversation, and connecting with others who are taking a deeper look at health and wellness. If you are interested in attending, register here.

Whether you are just beginning to ask questions or have been on your health journey for years, Back to Basics is an invitation to learn, connect, think critically, and take an active role in your health.
