Action Needed to Amend the Senate Farm Bill

Thank you for your interest in taking action regarding the Senate version of The Farm Bill.

The Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry met for the markup of the bill on Thursday, August 6.

Senator Cory Booker (NJ) introduced an amendment that would protect Americans’ right to sue pesticide and herbicide manufacturers. Committee votes came in along party lines, and the amendment did not pass. Importantly, the full bill itself also did not pass out of committee.

This leaves time to plan more action steps with the goal of stopping the pesticide/herbicide industry from receiving any kind of liability shield, and to have a Farm Bill that benefits both farmers and the health of the American people.
