Carson Kessler

Carson Kessler is an award-winning freelance journalist, fact-checker and copy editor based in New York City. She is currently this year’s Lorana Sullivan Business Fellow at ProPublica. Kessler holds a B.A. in English and Journalism from New York University, as well as a M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University. She has covered health, technology and business for THE CITY, Fortune, VICE, Marie Claire, The Independent and Our Town NY. No story is off limits for Kessler. She’s shadowed a crime scene cleaner, chronicled the struggles of an all-female volunteer ambulance corps in the Orthodox community and even spent a night in an internet cafe to share the transient experience of Brooklyn’s Chinese immigrants.
