Millennials Besieged by Chronic Illness: From Age 27, It’s All “Downhill”
Millennials (born between the early 1980s and approximately the mid-1990s), especially older millennials are in strikingly poorer health than earlier generations. According to a report released in April by the Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) Association, millennials are experiencing double-digit increases in prevalence of major depression, substance/alcohol/tobacco use, Crohn’s disease/ulcerative colitis and type II diabetes compared to what Gen Xers experienced at the same ages.
