Stop the Federal Cell Tower Takeover — Oppose H.R. 2289
Congress is moving fast on H.R. 2289, a bill that would let federal agencies and telecom companies override your community’s voice and force cell towers wherever they want.
April 20, 2026
We must not allow the FCC and telecom industry to plaster our communities with cell towers!
Congress is working to bring to the House floor H.R. 2289, a bill that would let unelected federal bureaucrats and telecom companies force cell towers wherever they want, next to your house, your child’s school, in the midst of your community. This is a full-scale federal takeover — speak out NOW before it’s too late.
H.R. 2289 is a federal power grab.
Let’s be clear: This is not “streamlining” or “permitting reform.” It represents extreme federal overreach, into the lives of the people like you who will suffer the health impacts and financial and visual impacts on their properties. It is your living environment that is at stake.
H.R. 2289 is a federal power grab that takes authority away from local governments and gives it to Washington, D.C. and the telecom industry.
It strips away the traditional local authority to help protect our neighborhoods, parks, schools, and churches from cell towers where we don’t want or need them.
If H.R. 2289 passes, every community in America is at risk of:
- More cell towers and antennas near homes, schools, and parks
- No meaningful oversight on ugly and harmful wireless infrastructure
- No regard for property rights or democratic participation
- Little to no notice before major tower upgrades
- Federal decisions overriding local concerns and community priorities
Local governments and residents would be silenced. Telecom and federal bureaucrats would gain even more control.
We cannot allow that to happen. No community should lose its voice in decisions that directly affect its safety, character, and future.
Your Representative needs to hear from you right now.
Use the form below to tell Congress to Vote NO on H.R. 2289 — and stop this nationwide federal takeover of local cell tower decisions.
